TGIF!!!!!! I am so glad it's Friday!! Is that horrible or what? My weeks are just flying by, which is sometimes a good thing, sometimes a bad thing. I sometimes feel like life is passing me by and I'm just standing still there watching the events of my life come and go and I don't really get to ENJOY them as much as I want to. Does anyone else feel that way?

Well, on another note, we have less than 2 weeks until the first airing of our DiSc Talk Radio shows!! I'm soooo excited about it, I can hardly wait!! We're adding a fun area of the site where we'll post silly Q&As from our interviewees....... things like What's your favorite color?...... stuff like that. You know, things you might want to know about your favorite digi "celebs" but you normally wouldn't find out about because you're not part of their inner circle.

Let's see...... what else do we have going on?

We will have a one week Memorial Day sale going on next week as Scrappy Doodle Kits. Not quit sure what the sale will be.......... but it's sure to be a doozy!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day everyone! I wanted to share what I just finished creating for my grandmother. As you might know, my grandfather passed away exactly 1 month ago today and I tried to think of a gift for my grandmother that would bring a smile to her face. What better way to do that than through photos! Bringing back good memories always does the trick.

So, I bought a 4x4 turquoise accordian album by All My Memories and I also purchased the Flea Market Chic Album designs by Shabby Princess with the 6x6 premade pages ~ coordinated perfectly!

I inserted my pictures that I wanted to use into the pages, printed them and cut out. It was very simple to do and I know my grandmother will enjoy it! Check it out.

Another week has come and gone! Lots was accomplished, but yet lots to still do.

First off, the DiSc Talk Radio grand opening chat event was a big hit on Wed. We had a ton of fun and got to meet some new people! If you missed the chat, don't worry, we're planning on having one at least every month, with lots of specials, games and prizes. Also, the first designer to be on our show is Rhonna Farrer!!!! HORRAY!!! I'm so excited to get the radio show off the ground and out into your desktop! So thrilling!!!!

Also, on another note, we've received notice that the PCCrafts Convention dates have been changed. Below is a letter from Elissa regarding why and when the new dates are:

Many of you have heard that I have a house fire in March. We are
still not in our home and this seems like it is going to be a bit
before I get to return to my house with the girls.
Due to this I have decided to move the dates of the convention to
the Spring of 2007. This will give us MORE time to prepare a BIGGER
and BETTER convention!
Please do not be disappointed! We WILL be having the convention….
Just a few months later then planed.
Please stay on this list and post to your friends, chat boards and
email groups that the PCCRAFTS CONVNETION is ON!! And WILL be having
our convention just changing the dates. LOCATION will stay the same.
I will be listing the NEW dates Mother's Day Weekend.
Registration will begin July 1st.

On a side note, I ran across these photos early this morning and wanted to share them with you. These were taken last spring when my good friend David and I went to Washington DC for the day. It was peak season for these Cherry Blossom trees and it was during the Cherry Blossom festival. There were so many people there and the trees were just magnificent. It was a beautiful day that day as well and we walked around to all the monuments and went through an art museum which was amazing in itself.

Anyways, my upcoming kit, Sweet Pea reminds me of the beauty of these trees.

Paying attention

I never really paid attention to yellow roses before, but I have to say that I love my yellow rose bush on the side of my house. I planted it two years ago after putting the lattice work up for privacy on our front porch and it has grown so beautifully since then. And I'm very proud of myself, cause I don't have a green thumb! So if you don't have a green thumb either, I would highly recommend getting rose bushes, because they are VERY low maintenance Ü

On a side note, I have a very exciting announcement that I'll make in just a little bit. You won't want to miss it!

Sorry for being so ..... "blogless" the past couple weeks. I've had a lot going on in my personal life, that I just haven't had the chance to share.

First of all, my grandfather passed away about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I was scheduled to drive up to see him the Tues before Easter anyways, because everyone knew he wasn't doing well......but we had no clue it was as bad as we thought. Anyways, I got the call from my dad on my drive up there that his kidneys failed and because he wished to not have life support, he was being moved into hospice.

Soooo, with just a little bit packed, I was unprepared to stay a week, much less be a part of a viewing and funeral.

The nice part of it though (I won't say great part of it, cause there was nothing great at all about it) is that my grandfather did recognize me when I got there. It was nice to me, because he had parkinsons disease, dimensia, diabetes and then his kidneys failed. So, amongst all that, he still recognized me and I was able to spend the last 4 days of his life with him.

He is with the Lord now and is in no pain, and for that I'm thankful.

PEOPLE COME INTO YOUR LIFE FOR A REASON

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide youwith guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, becauseyour turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid
emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime. Send this to every friend that you have online, including the person who sent it to you.

I have to tell you that I had a blast this weekend! I met a guy whom we seem to have a lot in common. This was probably the first weekend in a long time that I was able to forget about other things and just enjoy myself.

I did a pretty crazy thing though yesterday......lol. We were down at the ocean front and there was a tattoo/piercing place there. Actually, they're all over the place down there, but I rarely hang out there because of all the tourists.

Anyways, to make a long story short, I got my belly button pierced....rofl!! I have to admit, that even after having 3 boys and a couple other surgeries, that I was a little scared of what it would feel like. Well, my fears were right...lol! IT HURT! It hurt almost to the point of passing out afterwards - I got all light headed and had to lay back down.....lol. I felt like a fool - but I'm proud of it! You can barely see it in the pic because I got something small to start off with. But I can change it in about 3 months to something else if I want to.

Just thought I would share my funness with you!! lol

Not much exciting is happening on this fine Tuesday morning. Looking outside, it looks like the sun will be shining today and hopefully warming up a little more than yesterday.

Brandon has a chiropractic appt to go to today and I'll be working on my new lil' project that I have going on!!!

Oh my goodness......my boys and I had such a blast last weekend! Their big gift this past xmas was a trampoline but because of bad weather, we couldn't set it up until last weekend. It was so much fun just releasing energy and bouncing all around with them and being a kid myself again! Hopefully you can see through the pics below how much fun it was. A special thanks to David for helping me set it up for them. You're a great friend!

I rec'd this in my mailbox this morning from a friend and it really touched my heart. You may have heard this before, but I wanted to share it with you in case you haven't. Enjoy!

The Journey Of A Mother

For those who are fortunate enough to still be blessed by having your
Mom with you, this is beautiful...For those who aren't...
it is even more beautiful. It takes my breath!

The young mother set her foot on the path of life.
"Is this the long way?" she asked.

And the guide said "Yes, and the way is hard. And you will be old
before you reach the end of it. But the end will be better than the
beginning."

But the young mother was happy, and she would not believe that anything
could be better than these years.
So she played with her children, she fed them and bathed them, and
taught them how to tie their shoes and ride a bike and reminded them to
feed the dog, and do their homework and brush their teeth. The sun
shone on them, and the young Mother cried, "Nothing will ever be
lovelier than this."

Then the nights came, and the storms, and the path was sometimes dark,
and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother drew them
close and covered them with her arms, and the children said, "Mother,
we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come."

And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and the children
climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary. But at all times she
said to the children, "A little patience and we are there." So the
children climbed, and as they climbed they learned to weather the
storms.
And with this, she gave them strength to face the world.
Year after year, she showed them compassion, understanding, hope, but
most of all...unconditional love.
And when they reached the top they said, "Mother, we would not have
done it without you."

The days went on, and the weeks and the months and the years, and the
mother grew old and she became little and bent. But her children were
tall and strong, and walked with courage. And the other, when she lay
down at night, looked up at the stars and said, "This is a better day
than the last, for my children have learned so much and are now passing
these traits on to their children."

And when the way became rough for her, they lifted her, and gave her
their strength, just as she had given them hers.

Your Mother is always with you.

she wore, she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling
well, she's your breath in the air on a cold winter's day.
She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colors of a
rainbow, she is Christmas morning.
Your Mother lives inside your laughter.

And she's crystallized in every tear drop. A mother shows every emotion
.happiness, sadness, fear, jealousy, love, hate, anger, helplessness,
excitement, joy, sorrow...
and all the while, hoping and praying you will only know the good
feelings in life.

She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you
follow with every step you take.
She's your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but
nothing on earth can separate you.

I've published a new clip art CD!!! Horray!!

It's titled Heart of the Home and it mainly contains kitchen designs because everyone knows the kitchen is the "heart of the home". It contains 126 whimsical and country designs including a coordinating alpha. All designs are 300 dpi and come to you in gif and jpg formats.

Feb 15 is International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, something that hit very close to home for participating DSD designer Bree Clarkson. Almost 11 months ago, her 3 year old son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She soon learned that childhood cancer is quite common, with about 1 in 400 youths being diagnosed with some form by the age of 20.

We here at Digi Scrap Divas wanted to help spread the word and awareness, so we came up with a fun all-day crop for the digital scrapbooking community!! Let's see....... I've got something new going on every day!! If it's not one thing, it's the other....lol. I mean I'm not complaining by any means. It's just tiresome some days.

Ok, ok..... some of you may know that my hometown is Punxsutawney - home of the groundhog. They take the groundhog and groundhog day very seriously!! Below is a card that my Aunt Glo sent to me and others, so I thought I would share it with you!

Oh, and BTW - if you didn't already know, the town where Groundhog Day was filmed was not Punxsy. Not really sure where they taped it, but that's not our town.

Ok, I found two new songs that I'm jamming to today. Actually, they're not all that new, but I love to surf and search on my musicmatch. I like to listen to music when I create, so I can't live without my musicmatch, especially when I can download anything that I want to listen to instantly.

The first one is "Hung Up" by Madonna. LOL.......ok, yes I was a big "Like a Virgin" fan of Madonna's before I even knew what a virgin meant...lol! But she has kept up with the times and this is such a GREAT tune. Actually, I can't create much when I'm listening to it because I have to get up and dance....lol! But it's a great tune to get you motivated and re-energized, so I highly recommend it.

The second one is a song that a friend was listening to lastnight so I just had to d/load it and listen to it today. It has a special meaning and I love this artist. It's Gary Allan and the song is "The One". Definitely recommend these two songs, although on different ends of the music spectrum, still both are great tunes!!

Frustrations .......

I don't normally voice my pains of frustration publicly, but I figured this was my blog and I could do what I wanted with it......lol

I'm now a single mother of 3 wonderful, vibrant, energetic young boys after being married to my high school sweetheart for almost 12 years. Long stories going into the break up of my marriage that I'm not even going to venture into. But I say all this because it leads up to why I'm so aggravated. I'm sure all single mothers out there can sympathize with me on this one too and it has to do with family members that voice their opinions when it's not asked for, nor wanted. I got an email this morning from a family member whom I haven't seen for about 12 (maybe 13) years. It had to do with this past holiday and why I didn't do this or do that. Let me just start off by saying that I logged over 1500 miles on my beast (Durango, which BTW I absolutely love but it's a gas gussler) with my 3 boys in tote. If you have children, you know what a task that can be with just 1 child, let alone 3 by yourself.

Anyways, to make a long story short, it is sooooooo very frustrating to receive a condescending email like that when you know in your heart, you tried everything you could to make the rounds for the holidays because nobody offered to come to you. I want my boys to be around family and create wonderful memories at the holidays. I didn't make it to one family member's house and that's what this email was regarding. I vented a little too much in my return email to her, which I probably shouldn't have done...... but you know what?!? Maybe it will open her eyes to fully understanding how it is to be a single mother, trying to do it all for the sake of her and her children.

I'll get off my soap box now. I guess the email didn't get my frustrations out enough......lol. Sorry y'all had to endure more of my venting. I promise it will be a different tone tomorrow Ü

Ok........I have to say that the steelers game on Sunday was the best I had seen in a while. Now I don't watch football every weekend, every waking moment...... but I am a big fan, especially of the steelers. I have a wonderful, darling friend that is a Colts fan, so I feel bad for him AND the team. BUT, it will be wonderful to see the Steelers go back to the super bowl!!!
My son is a big Patriots fan, so I also felt bad for him this weekend. The first time in a while that we won't be rooting for good ole' Brady. But, once again ....... lol....... I am so glad to see the Steelers making their way back on track to the big bowl!!!!!!!1

Rules

Here are the 17 rules I try to live by on a daily basis. I know it's a lot, but remember, I said "try".....lol! It's my hope that you will find these as rules that can fit into your own life!

Because I stopped posting on my blog for a while, I thought I would back-track to what has happened in the past couple months. One of those events was being chosen as part of the Best N Brightest of 2006 for Digital Scrapbooking Magazine.

On Jan 1, I got a phone call later in the evening from Laura Vanderbeek telling me the exciting news that I was one of the chosen to work hand in hand with the editors on this great magazine! Let me tell you, I was soooo thrilled. I honestly didn't think I would be one of the chosen, but things happen for a reason, and I'm not going to try to figure this one out.

Let me give you a little background on what the weather has been like here in Va Beach. This past week, it was in the 60s or 70s....sunshine, a little breezy; one day we had some rain, but all in all, very beautiful for this time of year.

Well, we woke up this morning to SNOW on the ground!!!! And it's sticking too!!

Of course, my boys are so excited! After church, they want to go outside and play Narnia, just like in the movie.

If you had told me this week that we would have snow on the ground over the weekend, I would have thought you were crazy. Just goes to show you how crazy our weather can be sometimes!

Weekend Events

Well, this is my first attempt at blogging, so I hope I don't goof this up too much!! It's a typical Saturday around here. The two younger boys are watching cartoons (probably Cartoon Network) and my oldest boy is reading. It's been a quiet morning, which has allowed me some much-needed design time, which makes me happy - although I should probably be doing laundry, but who would rather do laundry over designing??????

I do have several things on my design to-do list, so that's a priority this weekend. I'm also going to be cutting my back yard tomorrow after I buy my first mower....lol. I've borrowed my neighbors all summer long and I've finally gotten around to buying my own. Ok, I know that sounds very boring, but when you have a wheatfield for a back yard, it's almost imperative that I get my butt in gear....lol!
